Nasz cykl nie mógł pominąć stolicy Austrii, która słynie z wydarzeń kulturalnych, muzycznych geniuszy czy wyjątkowej architektury. My skoncentrujemy się rzecz jasna na sportowym aspekcie. Co prawda austriackie kluby nie stoją na tak wysokim poziomie jak twórczość Mozarta, Beethovena lub Schuberta, aczkolwiek twierdzenie, że piłkarski segment tego miasta nie jest wart uwagi będzie mocno krzywdzącym osądem. Nie przedłużając, zapraszamy na wiedeński przewodnik.

Przelot

Bezpośrednie połączenia lotnicze do stolicy Austrii zapewniają nam linie Wizzair, Lot oraz Austrian Airlines z Warszawy, Krakowa i Gdańska.

Z innych miast takich jak: Szczecin, Łódź, Katowice, Wrocław czy Rzeszów dojedziemy autobusem firmy Flixbus.

Franz Horr Stadion

  • Obiekt znany jest również jako Generali – Arena i może pomieścić 17 tys. widzów (nieco mniej kibiców wejdzie na mecze międzynarodowe).
  • Zawodnicy zaczęli grać w tym miejscu już w latach 20 – tych, XX wieku. Pierwsze mecze rozgrywano przy jednej (południowej) trybunie.

  • Na terytorium ulokowanych jest kilka mniejszych boisk dla tamtejszej szkółki.
  • Arena składa się z 4 trybun. Z wyjątkiem południowej, reszta obszaru jest dwukondygnacyjna.
  • Zabieg ten wykonano specjalnie aby odpowiednio naświetlić murawę.
  • Na północnym obszarze zlokalizowane są dwa piętra lóż.
  • Franz Horr Stadion dysponuje dwupoziomowym parkingiem czy zapleczem dla adeptów akademii. W okresie przebudowy znajdowało się również przedszkole.

  • Budowa stadionu przebiegała w latach 2014-2016 i może gościć niemal 30 tys. osób.
  • Wcześniej kompleks określano jako Weststadion (stadion zachodni), jednak po śmierci dawnego zawodnika Rapidu – Gerharda Hanappiego, na jego cześć zmieniono tytuł.
  • Co ciekawe wspomniany Hanappi był nie tylko świetnym piłkarzem, ale także zajmował się architekturą. Zaprojektował m.in. poprzedni dom Rapidu.
  • Inaugurację obiektu uświetnił pojedynek Rapidu z Chelsea, w którym lepszy okazał się austriacki zespół pokonując The Blues 2:0. Przed tym spotkaniem nieoficjalnie w szranki w formacie 2 x 25 minut stanęły ekipy First Vienna i Wiener SK (8:2).
  • Budynek został obrócony o 90 stopni względem poprzednika.
  • Przybytek w dużej mierze był prefabrykowany i “składany” na miejscu.
  • Arena powstała na miejscu Gerhard-Hanappi-Stadion.
  • W związku z powstaniem nowego kompleksu, klub musiał usunąć jedno boisko treningowe, dzięki czemu zwiększono powierzchnię użytkową i pojemność na stadionie.
  • Budynek jest pokryty mozaiką z przepuszczających światło paneli, które częściowo obejmują również dach.

  • Dystans między obiema arenami wynosi ok. 10 km.
  • Pierwsze derby Wiednia miały miejsce we wrześniu 1911 roku. Lepszy okazał się Rapid pokonując lokalnego rywala 4:1.
  • Kibice obu klubów na co dzień nie skaczą sobie do gardeł, jednak sytuacja się zmienia w trakcie derbów miasta. Mecze te należą do tych z podwyższonego ryzyka a atmosfera potrafi być naprawdę gorąca. Dowodem na to może być pojedynek z 2011 roku. Doszło wówczas do walkoweru (0:3 dla Austrii Wiedeń) po tym jak fani biało – zielonych wbiegli na murawę kierując się w stronę sektora zajmowanych przez osoby wspierające fioletowych.
